Explanation:

there's no factorization involved, just elimination and substitution. First subtract equation 1 and 2. The x's cancel out and you get y by itself and can solve for it. Then plug the value of y into equation 2 and solve for x and you get it. (In my picture I put value of y in equation 1 but your question asks for putting it in equation 2 so do that instead)
