Solution

Given ,

  • A large cuboid-shape box has dimensions of 70cm by 40cm by 40cm
  • Length of the cube shaped boxes are 10cm

To Find : Maximum number of small cube shaped boxes that can fit in the cuboid

Volume of the Cuboid =
2(lb+bh+lh)

Volume of the cuboid =
2(70X40+40X40+70X40)

=
14400cm^(3)

Now to find the volume of a cube,

V = a^(3)

V = 10X10X10

V = 1000cm^(3)

Number of boxes that can fit in a cuboid =
(14400)/(1000)

=
14boxes

Hence , the number of cube shaped boxes that can fit in a cuboid are 14
