Answer:

Explanation:

6/7m - 3 = 5/7m - 5

(as you can see, there are simple numbers and some with m besides them, you have to group the "m" together and the simple ones on the other side of the "=" which means that you have to take away numbers that are "on the wrong side")

(first with -3, you add 3 on both sides)

6/7m - 3 + 3 = 5/7m - 5 + 3

6/7m + 0 = 5/7m - 2

(then with 5/7m)

6/7m - 5/7m = 5/7m - 5/7m - 2

1/7m = 0m - 2

(good job ! now, since we only want "m", we take away 1/7 by dividing both sides by 1/7 since it's a multiplication)

1/7m /1/7 = - 2 / 1/7

m = - 2 * 7 (because dividing a fraction is multiplying it by the inverse )

m = - 14

verify if it's correct , and you can finish :)

Answer:

m = - 14

Explanation:

(6)/(7) m - 3 =
(5)/(7) m - 5

multiply through by 7 to clear the fractions

6m - 21 = 5m - 35 ( subtract 5m from both sides )

m - 21 = - 35 ( add 21 to both sides )

m = - 14
