HELP PLEASE

Consider the equation xy = 0. In this equation, two variables are multiplied and the result is 0. Can the equation be true if neither variable is equal to 0? Can the equation be true if only one variable is equal to 0? If so, which one needs to be equal to 0? Can the equation be true if both variables are equal to 0?

Answer:

It is not true unless one or both variables is equal to zero. If either x, y or both is 0, then the equation will be true.
