“The Mystery of the Stolen Wallet” mentions that a missing wallet led to a false accusation. Think about what may have happened when Sam tells Amir the truth about where he left it. Write a narrative for your teacher about the actions Sam takes after he finds his wallet and the conversation he has with Amir. Sam was anxious as he got off the bus, his heart racing as he imagined what Amir would say. Once he had arrived home and opened the door, he realized his wallet was on the floor of his living room. He checked it immediately, and all his belongings were still there. He had been so worried about the accusation that he had promised himself to tell Amir the truth if he ever found it. Taking a deep breath to compose himself, Sam headed back to the bus station.

When he spotted Amir, Sam felt a rush of nervous energy. There was an awkward pause as the two of them stood opposite each other, and then finally Sam was able to find the courage to speak. “I found my wallet. I left it in my house. I'm sorry for accusing you of taking it.”

Amir looked confused for a moment, and then he opened his mouth to speak. “Wait, you think I took it? I never even saw your wallet.” Sam opened his mouth to apologize but Amir stopped him. “It doesn't matter, you found it and that's what counts. Just don't accuse people of things they didn't do again.”

Sam nodded, feeling a wave of relief wash over him. He thanked Amir before he headed back home, feeling more humble and thoughtful than before. He had learned a valuable lesson that day, one that he would never forget.
