1. To take responsibility for your actions because you can’t go back for what you did but you can own up to it changing yourself

2. That owning up to your things can change you and make you a better person but not doing so could result in worse because you can’t go back and change what you did

3. It shows people that they should own up to it instead of covering it or denying it because you can’t go back and change what has already happened and then regret it later but no way to reverse it.
