Follow bedmas (brackets, exponents, division, multiplication, addition, subtraction ) so first thing we see when looking at 8+3(2a-4) you don’t solve by going left to right. First thing we have to go according to bedmas which is in this problem is brackets. To solve the brackets we have to do 3 times 2a which is 6a and 3 times -4 which is -12.

1) aDDING 8+3

2) You should do 3(2a-4), get 6a-24

then do 8+6a-24
