The answer is .B. Because we multiply 7 times 2 that give us 14 and add 14 to 3 that give us 17 so B is the correct answer

the question is what number do you replace X with to make Y equal 17.

the two equations are Y=3+2X and Y=17

we want to know what x equals when y is 17 so in the first equation we can replace y for 17 that gives the equation 17=3+2x

next you will minus 3 from both sides which would make the equation 14=2x

then you will divide both sides by 2 and that will give the equation 7=x

this makes the answer B because if the pacage weight is 7 then y will equal 17
