Leslie baked 64 chocolate chip cookies

and 88 peanut butter cookies. She
wants to place the cookies in snack
bags for a party. Each snack bag will
contain the same number of cookies
and contain only one type of cookie.
If she places the greatest number of
cookies in each snack bag, how many
snack bags contain peanut butter
cookies?

we need to find the greatest common factor (GCF) of 64 and 88. The GCF of 64 and 88 is 8, because 8 is the largest number that divides evenly into both 64 and 88.

If Leslie puts the greatest number of cookies in each snack bag, she will be able to put 8 cookies in each snack bag. To find the number of snack bags containing peanut butter cookies, we can divide the number of peanut butter cookies by the number of cookies in each snack bag:

88 peanut butter cookies / 8 cookies per snack bag = 11 snack bags containing peanut butter cookies

Therefore, 11 snack bags will contain peanut butter cookies if Leslie puts the greatest number of cookies in each snack bag.
