Predict: How do you think increasing the cylinder’s mass will affect the final temperature of the water? Explain your prediction.

If I increase the mass of the cylinder, the final temperature of the water will likely be lower. The greater mass of the cylinder will act as a "heat sink," requiring more heat to be transferred from the cylinder to the water in order to reach a given temperature increase. As a result, the temperature of the water will not increase as much.
