$\cfrac{12}{x}~~ = ~~\cfrac{x}{2}\implies 24=x^2\implies \pm√(24)=x\implies \pm 2√(6)=x\implies x= \begin{cases} ~~2√(6)\\ -2√(6) \end{cases}$
