What is the equation of the line that passes through the point (8, 3) and has a slope
of -4?

y= -4x -29

if you don't know how to do this you do y=mx+b

so you sub in 3 for y and m already equals -4

then you multiply -4 and 8 to get -32 with that -32 you have that for your m for now, but it isn't permanent

then you subtract 3 to both sides meaning you subtract 3 by 3 which cancels each other out just giving you y and 3 - 32 which gives you -29

from then you go back to the y=mx+b

since 3 cancelled out and -4 is the original slope and -29 is for b

so that's why the equation equals y=-4x-29
