A) Tobacco
Tobacco was mainly grown and sold in the southern colonies. Since Tobacco was high in demand at the time, the South made a lot of money off of it. The south can thank the climate for they’re prosperous crops. Plus, they were specially known for their increased agricultural revenue compared to more northern colonies.
Wheat, Barley, and Corn were mainly grown in the middle colonies, hence the nickname “The Bread Basket”.
