Miguel is buying prizes for a raffle. He will buy one prize

that costs $50 and four prizes that cost $20 each. The
remainder of the prizes will cost $10 each. If Miguel can
spend no more than $300 on all the prizes, what is the
largest total number of prizes he can buy for the raffle?
(Assume there is no sales tax.)

Answer: 22 prizes

Step-by-step solution:
First we will add the prizes that were given, he buys 4 of the $20 prizes so 20x4 is 80 in total and he gets one $50 prizes so 80+50 is 130$.

Now, we can subtract his amount of money he can spend which is $300 but the 130 to know how much he can spend that’s left. $170 dollars left to spend.

Lastly, the rest of the prizes are $10 so 170 divided by 10 is 17 so he can buy 17 additional prizes.
And then if we include the 4 prizes and the the other one prizes for 50$ which is 5 more prizes so he can buy 22 prizes in total.
