The number of boys and girls in a class are in the ratio of 7:5.The number of boys is 8 more than the number of girls .What is the total class strength.

Answer: 48 people in total

Explanation:

If the ratio is 7 boys per 5 girls and in the real situation there is a difference of 8 boys then we can do some equivalent ratios.

- times 2:

7*2=14

5*2=10

so, 14 per 10 is one, however, it hasn't a difference of 8. Since 14-10=4.

If the difference is 4 and we need a difference of 8 we can multiply by 2. So, now we can make an equivalent ratio multiplied by 4, because 2 * 2 =4

- times 4:

7*4=28

5*4=20

So, 28 boys per 20 girls is the correct answer. There are 48 people in total:)
