Charlie got 44 more sweets than Adrian , that is

10x = 6x + 44 ( subtract 6x from both sides )

4x = 44 ( divide both sides by 4 )

x = 11

then

total sweets = 6x + 3x + 10x = 19x = 19 × 11 = 209
