Why is the work done by women not given as much importanceas work done by men?​

Women are not as valued as high in society. Plus a woman can decide to drop out of the work force and raise kids while the husband makes all the money. Other than the fact that this is a patriarchal society we live in created by men sometimes women are not viewed as equals in certain arenas.
