The answer is c. it showed the level of unhappiness that the Chinese felt towards foreign influence. During period Many Western powers were now establishing their influence in Chinese which angered the Chinese. The Dowager Empress encouraged the members of the Society of the Righteous and Harmonious Fist who attacked missionaries and foreign establishments. Later they attacked the Foreign Legations and were defeated by combined army of Western Countries. The Empress fled after this and Foreign powers punished China and the boxers for their deeds.
