How do I solve this and why?

4x+32=8+6x
4x+32-4x=8+6x-4x
32=8+2x
32-8=8+2x-8
24=2x
Divide each side by 2.
12=x

4x+32=8+6x
Subtract 4x from both sides.
32 = 8 + 2x
Subtract 8 from both sides.
24 = 2x
Divide 2 to both sides
x = 12
