The farmer needs to buy 11 bags of fertilizer.

Given:
Trapezoid: bases 35 and 48 yards, height of 26 yards
Triangle: base 39 yards and height of 26 yards
1 bag of fertilizer covers 150 square yards.

Area of Trapezoid = (a + b)/2 * h
A = (35yd + 48yd)/2 * 26yd
A = 83yd/2 * 26yd
A = 41.50yd * 26yd
A = 1,079yd²

Area of Triangle = (h*b)/2
A = (26yd * 39yd)/2
A = 1,014yd²/2
A = 507yd²

Total Area = 1,079yd² + 507yd²
T.A. = 1,586yd²

1,586yd² ÷ 150yd² = 10.57 or 11 BAGS OF FERTILIZER.
