6x - 12y = 24 ⇒ 6x - 12y = 24
-x - 6y = 4 ⇒ -2x - 12y = 8
8x = 16
8 8
x = 2
-x - 6y = 4
-(2) - 6y = 4
-2 - 6y = 4
+ 2 + 2
-6y = 6
-6 -6
y = -1
(x, y) = (2, -1)
