6x - 8 = 2 + 9x - 1

add 8 on both side

6x = 10 + 9x - 1

subtract 10 - 1

6x = 9 + 9x

subtract 9x on both side

-3x = 9

divide -3 on both side

x = -3

i hope i helped a bit
(if you have more question PM me)
thx

3x=-9
x=-3
All you have to do is isolate the numbers on one side and the x on the other side and just solve for it.
