What is the formula for calculating the volume of a cube?

V = s x s x s where s = the length of a side

V = .5 x.5 x.5 = .125

Answer:

Volume of a cube(V) is equal to side times side times side. i.e

V=s* s* s = s^3 cubic unit ; where s represents the side.

Since each side of a square is the same then, it can simply be the length of one side cubed.

Given:

The side of cube(s) =
(1)/(2) inch

then,

by the definition of volume of cube;

V= s * s * s

Substitute the value of s in above formula;

V =(1)/(2) * (1)/(2) * (1)/(2) =
(1)/(2 * 2 * 2) =
(1)/(8) cubic inches

therefore, the volume of cube is,
(1)/(8) = 0.125 cubic inches.
