To find perimeter you must do 2l+2w so to find the length you have to plug in 5 2(5)+2l 10+2l =16 -10. -10 2l=6 /2. /2 L=3

-- "Perimeter" means all the way around, all four sides.

-- That's two lengths and two widths.

-- So one length and one width is half of the perimeter.

-- If the perimeter is 16-ft, then one length + one width is 8-ft.

-- If the width is 5-ft, then the length is (8 - 5) = 3-ft.
