Hydrocarbons are simply compounds made up of hydrogen atoms and carbon atoms. They're not different.

Hydrocarbons are compounds made up of hydrogen and carbon, but they differ from the number of those atoms, the type of bonds between carbon atoms or helium atoms, and the chemical shape (aromatic or aliphatic)
