so 20 is equal to 40%
percent means part out of 100
40%=40/100=4/10=2/5
20=2/5 of all apples
'of' means multiply
20=2/5 times all apples
muitply both sides by 5/2 to make the 2/5 fracton go away
100/2=alll apples
50=all apples
there are 50 apples
