2(3-7)+6=x-14+6 \\ \\ 2(3 - 7) = x - 14 \ / \ cancel \ 6 \ on \ each \ side \\ \\ 2 * -4 = x - 14 \ / \ simplify \\ \\ -8 = x - 14 \ / \ simplify \\ \\ -8 + 14 = x \ / \ add \ 14 \ to \ each \ side \\ \\ 6 = x \ / \ simplify \\ \\ x = 6 \ / \ switch \ the \ sides \ around \\ \\

The final result is x = 6.
