x/600 = 8.5%
x/600 = .085
600(x/600) = 600(.085)
x = 600(0.85)
x = 51
Any further questions on how to do it?

51 workers ar in the union because 600 times 0.085(percent as decminal) is 51. Doing this will tell you what 85% of 600 is which is 51 workers
