To multiply 4x0.3 you need to multiply as if there is no decimal, 4x3=12

Then you count the number of digits after the decimal and put the same number of digits behind the decimal in the product.

Because 0.3 has just one number behind the decimal and there is only 1 number after the decimal it would be 1.2
