2x + 1y = 3 ⇒ 8x + 4y = 12
-4x - 4y = -8 ⇒ -4x - 4y = -8
4x = 4
4 4
x = 1
2x + y = 3
2(1) + y = 3
2 + y = 3
- 2 - 2
y = 1
(x, y) = (1, 1)
