$x- Kevin\ distance\\\\y-Steve\ distance\\\\ x=y+4\\and\\x+y=26\\\\Substituting\ x=y+4\\\\ y+4+y=26\\\\2y=26-4\\\\2y=22\ \ \ |:2\\\\y=11\\\\x=11+4=15\\\\Steve \ ran\ 11miles.$
