The given coordinate of D is (1, 0).

The length of BD is,


\begin{gathered} BD=\sqrt[]{(1-(-7))^2+(0-(-1))^2} \\ =\sqrt[]{64+1} \\ =\sqrt[]{65} \\ =8.06 \end{gathered}

Thus, the BD length is 8.06 units.
