7 * the smaller of two consecutive even integers is the same as -248 minus 6 * the larger integer. find the integers

let

x ----> the smaller of two consecutive even integers

x+2 -----> the second integer

so

7x=-248-6(x+2)

solve for x

7x=-248-6x-12

7x+6x=-248-12

13x=-260

x=-20

the second number is

-20+2=-18

the numbers are -20 and -18
