Answer:

Using 4's facts we could separate 8 into 2(4), then 2(2)(2), and then multiply them one time by three. So, we would have 2(2)(2)(3)=2(2)6=2(12)=24.

In most of the cases, using 4's facts implies to also used doubles. This is an strategy to help children to multiply by 4, using the well-known 2's multiplications facts. In other words, the fact is to make easier the multiplication, using other resources that children already know.
