You want to discard your old computer and want to securely erase the data from your hard drive.What can you use to do this and What is the process called?

You can either right click on C:\ drive and click format, or restart the computer and boot from CD, and you can wipe out the partition completely without installing the OS again. I also think, that you can call one of those waste/data disposal companies to collect it from your place and dispose it for you for a small charge.
