A pier is 200 meters long. each board is 80 centimeters wide. how many boards are in the pier?

To find the answer to the question, you first want to make the units of both number the same; we will turn them into centimeters
There are 100 cm in a metre so we multiply 200 by 100
200 x 100 = 20,000 cm
Next we divide the total length by the size of one board
20,000 / 80 = 250 boards
