4 servings of stew has 2 potatoes and 4 celery sticks

Divide all those numbers by 2.

2 servings of stew has 1 potato and 2 celery sticks

Multiply all those numbers by 3.

6 servings of stew has 3 potatoes and 6 celery sticks.

In 6 servings, there are 3 potatoes and 6 celery sticks.

Given:
4 servings : 2 potatoes and 4 celery sticks.

Find the number of potatoes and celery sticks in 6 servings.

6/4 = 1.50

2 potatoes x 1.50 = 3 potatoes
4 celery sticks x 1.50 = 6 celery sticks

6 servings of stew has 3 potatoes and 6 celery sticks.

Other way of computing for the 6 servings is getting the number of potatoes and celery sticks per serving.

2 potatoes / 4 servings = 0.50 potatoes per serving
4 celery sticks / 4 servings = 1 celery stick per serving

0.50 potatoes per serving * 6 servings = 3 potatoes
1 celery stick per serving * 6 servings = 6 celery sticks.
