28 1 yard is 4 bows, so 7 yards times 4 is 28

so 1/4 ards
1/4 yards times x ribbons=7 yards
multiply both sides by 4/1 to cancel fraction (1/4 times 4/1=4/4=1)
1 times x ribbons=28/1
x=28
answer is 28 ribbons
