Value of the car that John Marko buys = $11400.00
Percentage of depreciation in the value of the car in 3 years = 48%
Then
The amount of depreciation in the value of the car in 3 years = (48/100) * 11400
= 48 * 114
= 5472 dollars
The value of the car after 3 years = ( 11400 - 5472) dollars
= 5928 dollars.
So the value of the car after 3 years is $5928. I hope the procedure is simple enough for you to understand.

Hi
100% - 48% = 52%
11,400 ⇒ 100%
x ⇒ 52%
100x = 52 · (11,400)
100x = 592,800
x = (592,800)/100
x = $ 5,928.00
⇒ value of the car after 3 years
11,400 - 5,928 =
$ 5,472.00
⇒ depreciation in the value
