2x - 3y = 6
-3y = -2x + 6
y = -2x/-3 + 6/-3
y = 2x/3 - 2

For x=-1/2

y = 2(-1/2)/3 - 2
y = -1/3 - 2
y = (-1-6)/3
y = -7/3

2(-1/2) = -2/2 = -1
2(-1/2)/3 = -1/3
