Since 25% is 1/4 of 100%, then you do 8/4 and you get 2 and then you do 2 + 8 =
10

First find 25% of 8
multiply 25/100 or 0.25 by 8. you get 2. This is the same as dividing 8 by 4 (or
8 x 1/4).
Then add that 25%, which is 2, to 8 meters and you get 10 meters
easy peasy :)
