perimeter of a rectangle= 2(l+b)
here, perimeter = 26 and width = 4
26 = 2(l+4)
26/2 = L+4
13 = L+4
13 - 4 = l
9 feet = l
so length is equal to 9 feet

You are given Lisa’s rectangular flower garden that is 4 feet wide and a perimeter of 26 feet. You are required to find the length of Lisa’s flower garden. Remember that a rectangle has two sides equal in length and two sides equal in width. You will get the perimeter of a rectangle equals 2L + 2W where L is the length and W is the width.

P = 2L + 2W
26 feet = 2L + 2(4 feet)
26 feet = 2L + 8 feet
2L = 18 feet
L = 9 feet.
