Is it true or false? Although possessing very different cultures and different physical features, it is likely that Neanderthals and Homo sapiens did interbreed to some extent.

This is definitely true!

We know this, because we have found traces of Neanderthal DNA in the human genome - interestingly, only in the Eurasian population. Estimates say that 1 to 4% of Eurasian genes are of Neanderthal origin.

Homo sapiens also interbred with Denisovan species.
