Club A offers membership for a fee of $ $11 plus a monthly fee of $ $19.  Club B offers membership for a fee of $15 plus a monthly fee of $18.  After how many months will the total cost of each health club be the same? Club A is 11+19m Club B is 15+18m When they cost the same the two expressions are equal so: 11+19m = 15+18m M. = 4 In 4 months the two health clubs will cost the same amount. The cost of each club is $87.

Using the variable m for month
Club A: Club B:
19m+11 19m+11=18m+15 18m+15
-18m -18m
m+11= 15
-11 -11
m=4
Check 19(4)+11 = 87 18(4)+15= 87
total cost = 87
