It increased tensions between Britain and the U.S. because as American settlers began to spread towards Native American territories and many of them resented the encroachment of white settlers in their territories. During this time, the British began to support Indians who raided American settlements. This led to the war of 1812 where the British and American fought again. Apart from supporting Indians, the British also took sailors from American ships on the grounds that they were deserters. Eventually the Indians were removed from their ancestral land and relocated to reservations found in Federal territory.
