(x)/(4)=2\\Multiply\ by\ 4\ on\ both\ sides.\\x=2*4\\{\boxed{x=8}

\\\\x-9=17\\Add\ 9\ on\ both\ sides.\\x=17+9\\{\boxed{x=26}

x+12=20\\Subtract\ 12\ on\ both\ sides.\\x=20-12\\{\boxed{x=8}

2x=16\\Divide\ by\ 2\ on\ both\ sides.\\x=(16)/(2)\\{\boxed{x=8}

\sf\ The\ only\ equation\ that\ did\ not\ have\ the\ same\ solution\ as\ the\\others\ was\\ {\boxed{x-9=17}

If you would like to know which equation doesn't have the same solution as the others, you can calculate this using the following steps:

x/4 = 2 ... x = 4 * 2 = 8

x - 9 = 17 ... x = 17 + 9 = 26

x + 12 = 20 ... x = 20 - 12 = 8

2 * x = 16 ... x = 16/2 = 8

The correct result would be x - 9 = 17.
