Lets look at the info we have:-
28 miles per gallon
55 mph
2.75 hrs
Lets solve:-
55 mile per hr
2.75 hr
55 × 2.75 = 151.25
151.25 ÷ 28 = 5.401.... round to 5
So, in 2.75 hrs about 5 gallons of gas will be used.

28 miles per gallon of gas.
55 miles per hour * 2.75 hours = 151.25
Now, divide.
151.25/28 = about 5 gallons.
Answer: about 5 gallons of gas would be used.
