Mr. Medina owns a house that he wishes to sell. The state in which he lives charges a 3.9% sales tax on the sale of a house. Also, the county in which he lives charges a 2.9% sales tax, and the city charges a 1.9% sales tax. If Mr. Medina sells his home for $103,500, what will be his total tax bill?

Total tax bill is $9,004.50

Given:
Sales price = 103,500
State sales tax = 3.9%
County sales tax = 2.9%
City sales tax = 1.9%

State sales tax = 103,500 x 3.9% = 4,036.50
County sales tax = 103,500 x 2.9% = 3,001.50
City sales tax = 103,500 x 1.9% =1,966.50
Total tax 9,004.50
