A boat is traveling to the right at 300 N, the current is going to the left at 600N. What is the net force and direction?

i’m pretty sure it’s 300 N but it could also be 800 N . the only reason i thought it was 300 N was because since they go the other direction they should cancel each other out by doing 600 - 300 which is 300 N. but yeah

it would be 800n to the right
