In order to get that number, what power do you raise 10 to ?
log(√10) = 1/2 . . . . . (10 to the 1/2 power produces √10)
log(0.01) = -2 . . . . . (10 to the -2 power means 1/10² and produces 0.01)
So the sum of those two logs is (1/2) + (-2) = -(1 and 1/2) .
